Jane Eyre: An Autobiography by Charlotte Brontë
All the Brontë children loved music—a passion, which seems to have emanated from their father. Even with limited funds, Patrick paid for piano lessons for Emily and Anne and flute lessons for Branwell. Haworth was also a place to hear quality music whether at church or during public concerts. The arrival of an organ for Haworth church was a major event in the Brontë children lives and the Haworth Philharmonic Society as well as a band gave regular concerts in the village. (Barker, Juliet.
